The biggest music competition in Africa, received over 2.3 million calls from hopefuls across the 10 participating territories: Kenys, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Madagascar, Malawi, Nigeria, Niger, Ghana and DRC.
To enter the competition the contestants called an interactive voice respond system with their phone and recorded their songs. Then, in each country Trace selected 5 finalists who went head-to-head to win the national title and the right to represent their country in the Pan African finale in Nigeria.
The Winner of the Airtel, Trace Music Star competition will be crowned in a spectacular pan-African finale, filmed at Ultima Studios, Lekki on Saturday the 11th of June and will be televised all over Africa on TRACE music channels and national free to air tv networks.
The over all grand prize comprises of a record deal, promotion and mentorship campaigns with Kerri Hilson all for a total value that exceeds $500 000-00.
